CNN reports that the Miss Texas USA pageant is about to witness a historic moment as a woman from Texas is all set to become the oldest participant in the competition.
Marissa Teijo, aged 71, is a remarkable individual.
Hailing from El Paso, she holds the distinction of being the oldest participant in the pageant’s history to compete for the state title.
As a child, Teijo spent most of her time on the family farm, where she developed a keen interest in fitness. This led her to participate in various fitness competitions throughout her formative years. Her passion for fitness only grew stronger with each competition she took part in.
With almost 100 competitors in the running, the opportunity to become the next Miss Texas USA is highly sought after by many. One of these competitors is a 71-year-old who is determined to seize the chance and make a mark in the pageant world.
