A 19-year-old from Mt. Vernon is facing charges in Marion County Court for three counts of aggravated battery following an incident at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital.
Alana Schmidt, residing on Richview Road, is accused of pushing two private security officers and striking a nurse in the jaw during the altercation.
She has been appointed a public defender and is set to appear in court again on September third. As a condition of her pre-trial release, she must undergo a mental health evaluation.
