According to recent reports, additional details have emerged regarding a significant drug seizure in South Bend, Indiana. The bust included an enormous amount of fentanyl, which was enough to cause fatal overdoses for almost everyone in the area where it was found.
On Tuesday morning, a bust occurred on South Bend’s west side in the 700 block of S. Bendix Drive, leading to the filing of a federal criminal complaint in the Northern District of Indiana.
As we’ve covered similar incidents in the past, but this particular one can only be deemed as colossal. Hazmat crews were summoned to provide decontamination to both equipment and personnel.
The police discovered a variety of firearms, including rifles and handguns, along with a significant amount of drugs, including almost 500 grams of marijuana and a staggering 990 grams of fentanyl. It’s worth noting that just a small amount of this potent substance has the potential to be lethal, with the amount uncovered by law enforcement being enough to cause fatalities in nearly half a million individuals.
At present, there are various other pills that are undergoing testing. Additionally, a significant amount of 75 grams of cocaine and 27 grams of crack cocaine were discovered, alongside a digital scale.
Without any trouble, law enforcement officials apprehended 32-year-old Denardo McCormack during the raid.
He will make his first appearance in federal court on Monday, July 8th.
