A domestic dispute in Oklahoma City escalated into violence early Saturday morning when a man allegedly shot his wife following an argument over his infidelity, police report.
Officers responded to a home near SW 54th Street after receiving a distress call from a woman claiming her husband had shot her in the back.
Upon arriving at the scene, police found the suspect, identified as Deigo De Los Santos, standing outside the home with a firearm. He was immediately taken into custody.
The incident reportedly began when the victim confronted Santos with pepper spray after discovering he had impregnated another woman. In retaliation, Santos allegedly went inside the house, retrieved a firearm, and chased the victim outside, firing at her five times.
A police report states that investigators recovered a black semiautomatic Ruger LCP .380ACP, three spent .380ACP casings from the yard, and a live round on the porch. The pepper spray was located just inside the home near the front door.
The victim, who suffered gunshot wounds to her lower back, was transported to OU Medical Center by EMSA for treatment.
