A man was attacked at a Bronx subway station on Monday morning after arguing with another rider, according to police.
The fight began about 11:22 a.m. at the Prospect Avenue subway station in Longwood and turned violent when the attacker hit the victim in the face and sliced him with a sharp weapon.
The 57-year-old victim was treated on the spot and is currently in stable condition.
It was unclear what sparked the men’s disagreement.
Following the assault, the attacker fled the station in an unknown direction. According to authorities, he was last seen wearing khaki pants and carrying a black backpack.
There have been no arrests, and the inquiry is ongoing.
