On November 15, Ahmed Yaqoob was apprehended by U.S. Marshals after an extensive investigation conducted by the Erie County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office initiated its investigation on the following day, October 18th. By October 24th, they had obtained a search warrant approved by a judge.
On November 15, authorities arrested Yaqoob after they seized the evidence.
Yaqoob faces serious charges, including Predatory Sexual Assault Against a Child under the age of 13, First Degree Rape, and Second Degree Rape.
Yaqoob was charged and taken into custody, where he is currently being held at the Erie County Holding Center.
In light of the gravity of the accusations, 7 News has made the decision to release the mugshot of the defendant.
