On November 4, a Texarkana man was taken into custody after he fled the scene when a mother discovered him with her 13-year-old daughter and phoned the police.

Tyjae Clark, 30, is accused of avoiding arrest, online solicitation of a minor, and aggravated sexual abuse of a child.

The mother realized her 13-year-old daughter was missing from the house sometime Monday morning, according to the Texarkana Police Department. When the mother searched, she discovered her daughter and Clark in a parked car outside the house. The mother called the police when Clark kicked the girl out of the car and ran away when he was confronted.

A Wake Village Police Department officer stopped Clark “a short time later,” but he started to run away. Following the establishment of a perimeter by the Wake Village and Texarkana police departments, Clark was eventually seen strolling over train tracks prior to his capture.

Officers in Texarkana found several inappropriate messages between Clark and the 13-year-old girl on Clark’s social media accounts after doing additional investigation. The girl told Clark that she was underage in the messages.

Additionally, officers discovered that Clark has a lifetime registry order and is a registered sexual offender from a prior incident.

Clark is presently being imprisoned at the Bi-State Jail on $400,000 in bail.
