On July 3, the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office apprehended a man for reportedly taking a 14-year-old girl from North Carolina to Georgia.
On July 3, the United States Marshals reached out to the Sheriff’s Office Trafficking and Child Exploitation and Gang Units for assistance in locating the girl.
According to reports, an 18-year-old boy named Kevin Carcamo-Garcia from Lilburn was involved in a relationship with the girl. Law enforcement officials arrested him from his residence in Lilburn.
The sheriff’s office reported that Carcamo-Garcia confessed to transporting the girl from North Carolina to Georgia.
The Georgia Department of Family and Children Services safely transferred the girl to her mother, who was relieved to have her daughter back home.
The Gwinnett County Jail detained him with an $11,400 bond.
