HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS – Devan Jordon has been sentenced to life in prison for the 2021 murder of Jeffrey Johnson in League City. A Galveston County jury found Jordon guilty on Tuesday for the shooting death of Johnson, marking a significant step in the case.
Jordon, who was also facing a second capital murder charge in the death of Joshua Sandoval, had previously been released on bond twice while awaiting trial. Sandoval’s sister, Aimee Castillo, spoke out, expressing hope that Jordon’s conviction would set a precedent for justice in her brother’s case. Sandoval was killed during a robbery in May 2021, and Castillo remains dedicated to seeking justice for his death.
On Tuesday, Castillo attended the verdict reading alongside Johnson’s family, who expressed relief at the verdict. While Castillo and her family await their day in court, she emphasized that her fight for justice for her brother continues.
Jordon, who was arrested as part of a major crime ring, will spend the rest of his life in prison without the possibility of parole.
