Law enforcement authorities have made an announcement confirming the arrest of a suspect in connection with the triple murder that occurred at a gas station in State Line on New Year’s Day.
The Greene County Sheriff’s Department reported that they arrested Drexler Johnson, a 37-year-old resident of Leakesville, on Thursday morning. Johnson is facing charges of being an accessory after the fact to capital murder.
Johnson is facing accusations of being involved in the murders of Rhonda Denson, a clerk at Clark’s Oil & Gas station, along with her boyfriend Lester Campbell and customer Jason Thornton.
“I am thankful for the community’s assistance in providing information to continue to contact our office,” said Greene County Sheriff Ryan Walley.
After a thorough investigation by multiple law enforcement agencies that spanned over a week, the arrest has finally been made. Throughout the investigation, various rewards were offered in exchange for any information regarding the incident.
“We are still actively investigating this case, and this case is my number one priority, so I may provide justice to all the families affected by this tragedy,” Walley said.
Walley expressed gratitude to all the agencies that assisted the Greene County Sheriff’s Department in their investigation of the case.
Updates will be added whenever new information becomes available.
