A Las Vegas man was arrested early Tuesday morning following a shooting spree that spanned Nevada and California, injuring three people.
Deputies from the Barstow Sheriff’s Station responded to a shooting incident at a Chevron gas station on Baker Boulevard at about 2:46 a.m.
The defendant, Antonio Chaidez, 35, allegedly fired multiple bullets inside the gas station, hurting the clerk.
Chaidez also reportedly fired into two parked semi-trucks, injuring one of the drivers before fleeing the area.
Earlier, officers responded to a different shooting incident in an outlying region of San Bernardino County, when a man was shot while sleeping in his vehicle.
The California Highway Patrol pursued Chaidez’s vehicle, which was going southbound on the I-15 Freeway at Afton Road. Barstow deputies assisted in detaining Chaidez without incident following a felony traffic stop near Harvard Road.
Investigators discovered that Chaidez’s shooting spree began in Blue Diamond, Nevada, moved to Jean, Nevada, and ended in Baker, California.
Authorities are requesting anyone with information regarding the case to call the Barstow Sheriff’s Station at 760-256-4838.
