Majority of Americans back Trump's border emergency declaration, poll finds

A recent poll reveals that most Americans are in favor of President-elect Donald Trump’s proposal to declare a national emergency regarding the border crisis. This declaration would grant Trump the authority to employ the military in order to secure the border and assist in his efforts to deport violent criminal foreign nationals who are residing in the United States illegally.

According to a recent survey conducted by the Napolitan News Service, 1,000 registered voters were asked their opinion on President Trump’s proposed declaration of a national emergency to address the issue of illegal immigration. The survey, conducted online by pollster Scott Rasmussen on November 18-19, aimed to gauge public sentiment on whether or not they favored or opposed such a measure. Specifically, respondents were asked if they supported or opposed the idea of using military force to aid in the mass deportation of illegal immigrants.

According to the poll, a total of 55% of Americans support Trump’s plan to declare a national emergency. Of those surveyed, 31% said they strongly favor it, while 24% said they somewhat favor it. This support is widespread across different racial and ethnic groups, with 62% of Hispanic voters, 57% of white voters, and 50% of Black voters in favor of the plan.

According to the survey, 12% of the participants expressed a moderate level of opposition to the idea, while 26% strongly opposed it. In total, 38% of the respondents were against the idea. Additionally, 7% of the participants were unsure about their stance on the matter.

According to a statement accompanying the polling results, Napolitan News Service reported that if a national emergency is declared, the president would be able to utilize military forces to aid in the deportation of illegal immigrants. The statement also revealed that 62% of Hispanic voters, 57% of White voters, and 50% of Black voters support this plan.

The Trump campaign emphasized the border crisis and Vice President Kamala Harris’ efforts to address the immigration issue. President Trump promised to secure the border and put an end to the influx of illegal immigration, which reached unprecedented levels under the Biden-Harris administration.
