28-year-old Michaela Tyler was tragically killed in Sweeny, Texas on Friday. Today, family, friends, and colleagues are sharing their heartfelt memories of the daughter, mother, and teacher they have lost.
According to Sweeny Police, the investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made yet. However, Michaela’s grandmother is eager to find answers quickly.
“I couldn’t bring myself to walk through the doors this morning, so I waited in my car until a student arrived,” shared Betty Liles.
Betty Liles, the grandmother of Michaela Tyler, expresses that the entire community of Sweeny feels the impact of Michaela’s loss. This is particularly evident at The Kids’ Learning Academy, a day care where both Michaela and Betty worked side by side every day.
“It’s a constant source of worry for the children as they search for her in every corner. Naturally, we can’t disclose the truth of what happened, but yes, they yearn for her presence. They are aware that she is absent and can sense the void during the times she should be with us. It’s truly challenging,” expressed Liles, reflecting on the children’s emotions.
The Sweeny Police reported that a tragic incident occurred at the Windmill Run Apartment homes on Silverleaf Road, resulting in the untimely death of a 28-year-old individual on Friday.
Liles claims that she had been at work with her granddaughter just hours before the murder took place.
Liles said, “She was here on Friday morning and left around 11:30ish because she wasn’t feeling well. I told her to go home and take her break, but she never returned.”
