A woman from Central Islip is celebrating after winning $1 million in a New York Lottery scratch-off game.
According to New York Lottery officials, Janiah Williams won the top prize on Tuesday and chose to receive a one-time lump sum payment of $455,700 after mandatory withholding. She bought the winning ticket at the 7-Eleven on 56 Lowell Avenue in Islip Terrace.
Her winning ticket was part of the $1,000,000 Holiday Cash game, which has already had all of its top prizes claimed, according to lottery officials. Players who received lower-tier Holiday Cash game prizes have until January 13, 2026, to redeem their earnings.
