A convicted Indiana felon has been sentenced to 3 to 4 1/2 years in prison for scamming 14 Ohio residents in home improvement scams, Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost announced.
Roger Glenn Gray of Aurora pled guilty in Hamilton County Common Pleas Court to a second-degree felony charge of participating in a pattern of corrupt action. Along with his prison sentence, Gray, 52, has been ordered to pay restitution to his victims, from whom he stole over $105,000.
“Scammers and fraudsters will always try to take advantage of hardworking Ohioans, but we’re here to make sure they don’t get away with it,” Yost said in a media release. “Justice has been served in this case, and other bad apples should beware.”
Gray’s criminal record includes a felony theft conviction in Indiana in 2003, two Ohio felony theft charges against the elderly in Hamilton County in 2012, and a Hamilton County misdemeanor theft conviction in 2014.
Gray’s sentencing comes after he was indicted for felony theft in July 2024. According to the indictment, Gray took money for concrete construction and home repair projects between April 7, 2022, and April 21, 2024, while operating under the firm name All Around Concrete. In most cases, he did little or no work at all, failed to produce materials, and refused to offer refunds.
