On Saturday, the Kansas Department of Corrections issued a notice about an escaped inmate. KDOC reported his capture on Monday.
KDOC reports that the Johnson County Adult Residential Center placed 24-year-old Ricardo Marin-Valadez on escape status at 6 p.m. on August 9 due to his failure to report for his scheduled duty or return.
He was serving a 15-month sentence for a drug offense in Johnson County when he escaped.
On Monday, August 12, KDOC reported that the Kansas City Police Department detained Marin-Valadez without incident.
The inquiry into the incident is underway.
