Incarcerated Attica prisoner convicted for attempted rape

According to the Wyoming County District Attorney’s Office, a prisoner at Attica Correctional Facility has been given a 15-year prison term on top of his current sentence for trying to rape a staff member at the facility. The incident occurred recently, and the additional sentence was handed down on Thursday.

In June, Emmanuel Jenkins, aged 38, was convicted of first-degree attempted rape, first-degree robbery, second-degree assault, and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon. He has been sentenced accordingly.

Jenkins had previously been convicted and sentenced to 15 years to life in prison for committing three counts of predatory sexual assault, two counts of third-degree aggravated sexual abuse, and three counts of third-degree rape.

Officials have announced that the current sentence of the individual will be followed by a new 15-year sentence, served consecutively. Additionally, the individual will be subjected to 25 years of post-release supervision as well.
