A Florida doctor has been arrested on battery charges following allegations of inappropriate behavior with a patient at an Ocala medical facility.
Officer Bellamy responded to the Cardiovascular Institute of Central Florida, located at 2105 SW 20th Place, on March 24th, after receiving a report of a battery involving a medical professional and a patient.
The victim, a woman in her fifties, said that her doctor, Jose Jacob, 65, touched her improperly during her visit. She said that Jacob asked improper intimate questions and that, after her test, Jacob hugged and kissed her twice without her permission.
Police interviewed several people on the scene throughout the inquiry, including Dr. Jacob. Jacob originally disputed the claims but then made contradictory responses. Further inquiry discovered earlier claims of inappropriate behavior by Jacob at both the current location and another location in North Carolina.
The inquiry resulted in the issuance of an arrest warrant for Jose Jacob. On March 28, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office apprehended him.
The Ocala Police Department is requesting anyone who has witnessed or experienced similar activity with Jose Jacob to come forward and contact them.
