Impaired driver hospitalized after allegedly driving stolen vehicle off I-475, crashing into ravine, says OSHP

According to officials, a vehicle careened off of I-475 and plunged into a ravine, resulting in the driver being rushed to the hospital on Monday morning. The incident occurred in Lucas County, Ohio.

At 4 a.m. on July 15, the crash took place.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol reported that a construction worker observed a Honda CRV speeding on I-475 South and then turning around to continue driving at a high speed on I-475 North.

According to police officers who responded to the scene, the car involved in the accident was reported stolen. The driver, who is suspected to have been under the influence of something, lost control of the vehicle after it veered off the road and into the median. The car eventually crashed into a nearby ravine, resulting in significant damage.

The hospital in the vicinity attended to the driver, who sustained minor injuries.
