On January 25, US Immigration and Customs Enforcement detained a Lebanese man who was illegally living in the US and faces criminal charges in Massachusetts.
Pierre Maurice Al-Asmar was charged with both assault and battery, as well as assault and battery on a person aged 14 or older.
According to ICE, Al-Asmar entered the country legitimately but violated his entry conditions.
Al-Asmar appeared in Lakeville District Court on February 5, 2024, to face sex crime, assault, and battery accusations.
“Pierre Maurice Al-Asmar has not only shown a blatant disregard for U.S. immigration laws, but he has been charged with horrifically victimizing a Massachusetts resident,” ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations Boston acting Field Office Director Patricia Hyde said. “He represents a significant threat to the people of New England that ICE will not tolerate.”
Al-Asmar is scheduled to appear before a Justice Department immigration judge.
