Overnight, a fatal crash occurred on I-20, resulting in the closure of the eastbound lanes for several hours. Sadly, one person lost their life in the accident.
Around 1:20 a.m., DeKalb police received a call to head to I-20, just past the Wesley Chapel Road exit.
According to investigators, a car crashed into a tractor-trailer from behind while it was stopped on the interstate.
Unfortunately, the driver of the vehicle was declared deceased at the scene of the incident. The authorities have not yet revealed the identity of the individual.
At approximately 5:30 a.m., Triple Team Traffic confirmed that the incident had been resolved and the interstate had reopened. The crash had been moved to the side of the road, allowing for traffic to resume its normal flow.
