A husband has been charged in connection with his wife’s death after the Harris County Sheriff’s Office stated that he allegedly ran her over late Friday evening in northwest Harris County.
Shortly after 10 p.m., deputies were called to a residence in the 14000 block of Autumn Mist Court. Upon arrival, they discovered a woman who was injured and lying underneath a 2014 red Kia Optima.
The HCSO reported that she was declared deceased at the location.
According to investigators, the man present at the scene, who was identified as the victim’s husband, was inside the car and allegedly accelerated while reversing out of his driveway. Meanwhile, his wife was standing outside.
Officials suspect that she may have been attempting to gain access to the vehicle.
A tragic incident occurred in north Houston, resulting in the loss of a woman’s life. The husband, who was involved in the crash, is now facing charges of intoxication manslaughter.
According to HCSO, deputies discovered that the man was intoxicated and subsequently apprehended him at the location. The individual is now facing a charge of intoxication manslaughter.
Sean Teare, the newly-elected District Attorney of Harris County, promptly arrived at the scene in response to the incident.
The Vehicular Crimes Division of the HCSO is currently investigating this incident.
