HPD images show persons of interest when 12-year-old girl’s cause of death is revealed

This week, the Houston Police Department shared images of two men who they believe may have information about the tragic discovery of a 12-year-old girl’s body in a nearby creek.

According to police, the young girl was discovered near the North Freeway off West Rankin Road, which is within walking distance from her residence. The authorities suspect that she left her home around 10 p.m. on Sunday without permission.

Police report that the last sighting of the girl was by her mother as she went to bed.

According to Houston Mayor John Whitmire, the young girl was conversing with her 13-year-old boyfriend on the phone while at a convenience store around midnight on Tuesday. The boyfriend claimed that he overheard her speaking with two adults during the conversation, as per the investigation.

Whitmire announced that a report detailing severe and awful circumstances will be released soon.

The killer’s whereabouts are being investigated by authorities, who are in search of surveillance footage that may provide valuable leads.

On a Monday morning, while driving back home after dropping her husband off at work, Billie Jackson stumbled upon a disturbing discovery.

As she drove past, her eyes caught something peculiar up the creek. At first glance, she thought it was a mannequin. However, upon closer inspection, she realized it was a person. Acting swiftly, she made a U-turn and stopped on the bridge, turning on her flashers. Without wasting any time, she parked and called 911 right away.

Late Tuesday evening, the Houston Police Department shared a surveillance image on the social media platform previously known as Twitter, depicting two male individuals who are considered to be of interest.

According to the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences, the cause of death for the victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, was determined to be strangulation.

As Jackson reflects on the incident, her thoughts are with the family of the 12-year-old girl. The sight of what she witnessed still weighs heavily on her heart.

Jackson expressed his devastation upon discovering that she was 12 years old. He emphasized his emotional connection to the situation by mentioning that he has a granddaughter of the same age.

If you have any information regarding the death of the girl, authorities are requesting you to contact Crime Stoppers of Houston at 713-222-TIPS (8477).
