Houston resident faces charges in deadly hit-and-run incident following escape from pedestrian collision on Yellowstone Drive

A suspect in a fatal hit-and-run crash that took place at 4700 Yellowstone Drive in Houston, Texas, early Wednesday morning is now facing charges. The Houston Police Department has charged 22-year-old Cedric Gerard Golden Jr. with failing to stop and render aid.

While she was not in a crosswalk, a black Dodge Challenger struck a female pedestrian who was walking in the street. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the pedestrian dead after the vehicle fled the scene.

The Dodge was later involved in another crash at Lockwood Drive and Spur 5, leading to the detention of Golden by HPD South Central Patrol officers. Following a thorough investigation and consultation with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, Golden was charged and taken into custody at the Harris County Jail.

The identity of the deceased female is still pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences, according to the source.
