A Houston man, who allegedly paid someone to bring a 16-year-old Idaho teenager to Houston to meet him, is now facing additional charges.
According to the Boise Police Department, the teenager left home on October 10th after packing a bag and leaving a note. It was discovered that she had been communicating with someone online.
According to a statement from the Boise Police Department, detectives have uncovered evidence indicating that the teenager traveled across eastern Idaho, then made their way to Utah, and eventually reached Texas during their investigation.
Aguilar supposedly gave $1,400 to an individual to transport the teenage girl to Texas. However, the person responsible for bringing her to Houston remains unidentified.
Houston Police later visited the residence and discovered Aguilar and the teenager inside. They proceeded to apprehend Aguilar at the scene.
According to court documents, the girl had hickeys on her neck and although she informed the police that they were hickeys, she did not reveal any other activities that took place between the two.
According to court documents, during the police interview, Aguilar refused to answer questions regarding whether there was any sexual contact between the two individuals. Aguilar reportedly justified his actions by stating that he believed the teenager was on the verge of turning 18, leading him to believe that the situation was acceptable.
During a subsequent medical examination in November, physicians in Idaho discovered that the girl was pregnant.
Aguilar currently resides in the Ada County jail in Idaho. According to an ICE spokesperson, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has placed a detainer on Aguilar. The spokesperson further revealed that Aguilar is a Guatemalan national who illegally entered the country as an unaccompanied minor.
