On March 18, 2025, at 3:11 p.m., Cpl. Shrawder noticed a Chevy Equinox traveling at an exceptionally high speed northbound on Rt. 4 at Solomons Landing in Solomons.
The vehicle made an abrupt turn onto Patuxent Point Parkway, practically on two tires. The Chevy then drove through the busy McDonald’s parking lot, spewing dirt and dust into the atmosphere. Cpl. Shrawder turned on his emergency lights and sirens in an attempt to halt the Chevrolet.
The automobile was speeding at 85 mph in a 35 mph zone. Cpl. Shrawder chased the car northward on Rt. 4, while the Chevy passed many vehicles on the shoulder, driving aggressively and irresponsibly at speeds of up to 125 mph.
Deputies used stop sticks on Sweetwater Road in Lusby, which effectively hit the driver’s side tire. Despite losing a tire, the driver proceeded to drive at more than 100 mph until the car got inoperable near the north entrance of HG Trueman Road.
Deputies used a Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT) to safely stop the car. The driver, Julia Nicole Gallodoro, 29, of Lusby, was arrested.
A search of the vehicle revealed probable cocaine and drug paraphernalia. Gallodoro was taken to the Calvert County Detention Center and charged with CDS: Possession-Not Cannabis, Fleeing and Eluding Police, CDS: Possession of Paraphernalia, Driving Without a License, Negligent and Reckless Driving, and a number of additional traffic offenses.
