Heart Disease Identified as the Cause of Death for Former NBA Player Darius Morris, with Drugs and Alcohol as Contributing Factors

Ex-NBA player Darius Morris’ cause of death has recently been disclosed, revealing that heart disease was the culprit, and drug and alcohol use played a significant role.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner has revealed that the official cause of Darius’ death was coronary artery disease.

As per the death investigation summary by the ME, which was acquired by TMZ Sports, the use of drugs and alcohol played a crucial role in Darius’ passing. The report states that the presence of cocaine, hydrocodone, and ethanol had significant effects on his demise.

The authorities have ruled the death of the ex-Los Angeles Lakers player as accidental.

In May 2021, it was reported that Darius had been found dead in a home located in the Los Angeles area. According to the official medical examiner’s report, he had alcohol, cocaine, and hydrocodone in his system at the time of his examination, which occurred the day after his passing. It was determined that these substances played a role in his unfortunate demise.

At just 33 years old, Darius had already played four seasons in the NBA with teams like the Lakers, 76ers, Clippers, Grizzlies, and Nets before heading overseas.

Rest in peace.
