‘He is a very dumb criminal’: Court documents show that a 19-year-old danced around the victim after shooting him point blank in the head

According to court documents, the suspect in a shooting case was captured on camera dancing and skipping around the victim’s body shortly after fatally shooting a 21-year-old in the head.

Nineteen-year-old Kyis L. Glaspar is accused of committing two counts of murder in connection with the execution-style shooting of Kiyon Davidson. Additionally, he is facing a Level 2 felony charge of robbery that resulted in serious bodily injury.

According to court documents that were recently unsealed, Glaspar stands accused of being the shooter and robber involved in a fatal incident at Maple Creek Village Apartments on June 8. After the incident, Glaspar fled the city, but law enforcement officials were able to locate and apprehend him in Gary with the help of U.S. Marshals and IMPD’s violent crimes unit.

According to court documents, a second individual, who is also 19 years old, has been identified as a co-defendant in this case. The individual is alleged to have been present with Glaspar during the shooting incident. Surveillance footage reportedly shows this co-defendant taking items, including a gun, from Davidson’s body before leaving the area with Glaspar.

As of now, the co-defendant has not faced any charges.

According to court records, Glaspar and the co-defendant were spotted at the apartment complex on the night of the shooting by several witnesses. One witness even claimed that they saw the duo wearing ski masks. The same witness informed the authorities that they suspected the two would escape to Chicago.

According to authorities, Davidson went by the moniker “KD.”

According to reports, after the victim fell to the ground, Glaspar was seen dancing around the body and then skipping away through the parking lot.

According to a police informant, Glaspar has been incessantly bragging about killing Davidson, leading authorities to believe that he is not a very smart criminal.

According to court documents, Glaspar allegedly shared a photo on the night of the shooting showing police arriving at the crime scene. The caption on the photo included laughing face emojis and a dancing man emoji.

According to court documents, Glaspar’s phone was last detected in Merrillville, located in Lake County, before it was switched off.

IMPD violent crime units, in collaboration with the U.S. Marshals and Gary SWAT teams, apprehended Glaspar on June 13 in Gary. It remains unclear whether the co-defendant was also arrested by the police.

Authorities have not yet released a booking photo for Kyis L. Glaspar.
