An investigation is ongoing after a 42-year-old man was found shot to death on Saturday in northwest Harris County, authorities report.

Deputies responded to a weapons disturbance call around 3 a.m. in the 23000 block of Bauer Hockley Road.

Upon arrival, officers discovered the man with gunshot wounds. Paramedics pronounced him dead shortly after.

Officials revealed that the victim had been involved in a physical altercation with his girlfriend. She called her brother, who arrived shortly afterward.

Law enforcement states that a confrontation between the two men escalated, resulting in the victim being shot multiple times.

Deputies noted that both the girlfriend and her brother remained at the scene.

The case has been referred to a Harris County grand jury.
