Gold Rush Pays Big: Florida Man Wins Life-changing Lottery Jackpot Of $2 Million

A Florida man is celebrating a major cash windfall after winning the $2 million top prize in the Florida Lottery’s $2,000,000 GOLD RUSH MULTIPLIER Scratch-Off.

Arthur Geddings Jr., 59, of Pensacola, claimed his reward at the Lottery’s Pensacola District Office and requested a one-time, lump-sum payment of $1,276,000.00.

Geddings got his winning $10 ticket from Cumberland Farms, which is located at 600 N. New Warrington Road in Pensacola. The store will get an additional $4,000 commission for selling the lucky ticket.

The $2,000,000 GOLD RUSH MULTIPLIER Scratch-Off game, which debuted in January, allows players to win one of five $2 million top prizes. The game has nearly $220 million in total cash prizes and 8.6 million winning tickets, with overall odds of winning at one in 3.41.

Scratch-off games remain an important part of the Florida Lottery’s portfolio, accounting for over 74% of ticket sales in the fiscal year 2023-2024.

Since its start, the Lottery’s Scratch-Off games have paid out more than $65.5 billion in prizes, created 2,283 millionaires, and raised more than $19.80 billion for the state’s Educational Enhancement Trust Fund.
