A 30-year-old fugitive, who has been evading authorities in Cook County since 2021, was arrested after returning from Texas.
The Cook County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of Derrale Esther on Friday, carried out by the Sheriff’s Fugitive Apprehension Unit.
What we know Esther was arrested on multiple outstanding warrants from Cook County, including charges of aggravated criminal sexual abuse involving a minor under the age of 9 and violation of electronic monitoring. Investigators were able to track Esther’s location after he returned from Texas. He was found in Manteno by law enforcement and taken into custody.
Esther is currently being held at the Cook County Jail.
What we don’t know Details about the circumstances surrounding Esther’s charges have not been revealed. The Sheriff’s Office has also not shared when he will appear in court or what his sentencing might be.
