Florida woman arrested for smuggling several kilos of cocaine into South Carolina, deputies say

FLORENCE COUNTY, S.C. — The Florence County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Florida woman for trafficking cocaine into South Carolina.

On Wednesday, July 3, deputies stopped a vehicle for speeding on I-95 north near the 163-mile marker. Suspecting criminal activity, they conducted a consent search of the vehicle. During the search, deputies found an aftermarket compartment containing 3 kilos (6.6 pounds) of cocaine.

Carmen Denisse Garcia Roman from Orlando, Florida, was arrested and charged with trafficking cocaine. She will be held at the Florence County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
