Starting or ending your day with a quick stop at your favorite donut shop or coffee spot can be a refreshing routine. However, a Dunkin Donuts franchise located in Kissimmee, Florida, was recently closed down following a state inspection, leaving donut lovers in the area disappointed.
Dunkin Donuts is a well-known brand that originated in the 1950s and is a staple of the Boston area. Although their name suggests a focus on donuts, they are equally famous for their coffee, which is loved by many.
Dunkin Donuts operates in almost 40 countries, with a total of 13,200 restaurants worldwide. In Florida alone, there are more than 900 Dunkin locations.
3745 Pleasant Hill Road in Kissimmee has received mixed reviews, with a rating of 3.4 out of 5 stars on Google reviews.
Although some customers praised the service they received, others shared their experiences of receiving incorrect orders. One individual even mentioned the cleanliness of the establishment. Laronda, a reviewer, stated the following:
“Service/food is hit or miss at this location. Today my sourdough sandwich…was actually cold on the first bite. I also got a cup of water which tasted like mildew. Someone needs to get the machines cleaned and serviced. I’m going to stop frequenting this location. I’ve just had too many negative experiences there.”
Inspection Findings: On July 29, 2024, the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation conducted an inspection, during which they found three violations.
Employees were unable to access the handwash sink at all times, resulting in an intermediate violation.
The restaurant received high-priority violations due to the presence of a “toxic substance/chemical” on the prep table and the discovery of 20 rodent droppings.
Due to certain violations, the restaurant was compelled to temporarily shut down.
During a follow-up inspection on July 30, 2024, the restaurant was found to have two violations. However, these violations were not deemed to pose an immediate threat to the public. As a result, the restaurant was considered to have met inspection standards and was allowed to reopen.
It’s important to keep in mind that an inspection is just a snapshot of a restaurant’s operations at a specific moment in time and may not reflect their daily practices.
