Fiancée of Murdered Father of Three Speaks Out Against Low Bond Release of Alleged Killer

Fiancée of father of 3, who was murdered by recently released ex-convict on low bond, shares her story

Granting a low bond to repeat offender and ex-con Thomas Briscoe has had a lasting impact on Addyson Bennefeld.

“I don’t think people truly grasp the impact something like this can have on someone’s life,” she expressed.

Andy Kahan with Crime Stoppers expressed his disbelief at the fact that someone who had just been released from prison was charged with two felonies. “It just didn’t seem right to me,” he stated.

Addyson expressed that she has no clue about the reason behind her actions.

According to Thomas, her exact words were, “I’m exhausted from constantly being treated with disrespect.” She expressed her disbelief and questioned how someone could act in such a way. Thomas emphasized the fact that the incident occurred in their own home, where the perpetrator had stayed the night before. Comparing it to shooting someone, she commented on the deeply personal nature of stabbing someone, highlighting the level of intimacy involved.

Jacob’s mother tragically lost her youngest child.

Kahan suggested that if the bond had been higher, Jacob Trevino would still be alive today.

Addyson holds the revolving door at the Harris County Criminal Courthouse responsible for leaving three children without a father.

Aria Trevino only had a few months to get to know her father.

Addyson expressed her determination to make a difference as she reflected on being given another chance. She questioned why some people are unwilling to change their lives or don’t care.

Kahan emphasized that there is another family who is facing the consequences of what he refers to as the bond pandemic.

Briscoe has returned to prison with a bond of $350,000 set.
