FBI executes search warrant on Rep. Andy Ogles, seizes cell phone day after primary win

On Tuesday, Rep. Andy Ogles, who is a Republican from Tennessee, took to social media to reveal that his phone had been seized by the FBI the week before. This happened just a day after he emerged victorious in a Republican primary in Tennessee.

On X, Representative Ogles, who is a member of the House Freedom Caucus, released a statement regarding an investigation that reportedly concerns his campaign finance filings. Fox News sources have confirmed that FBI agents conducted a search at his D.C. office last week under a search warrant.

In a recent statement, the Tennessee politician acknowledged the widely reported mistakes made by his campaign in the initial financial filings. He confirmed that his team has been working tirelessly with attorneys and reporting experts to rectify these errors and ensure compliance moving forward.

“My cell phone was taken into custody by the FBI last Friday.”

According to Ogles, he is of the opinion that the seizure of his phone is linked to the campaign filings. He also pledged to work together with the authorities.

The Republican stated that he believes the investigators are looking into the well-known facts related to the filings. He also added that he will cooperate with them completely, just like he did with the Federal Election Commission.

“I firmly believe that everyone involved will come to the conclusion that the discrepancies in reporting were a result of genuine errors, and nothing beyond that.”
