Driver Killed, Passenger Injured in Semi-Truck Crash After Running Red Light in West Phoenix

Fatality occurs when driver runs red light and is struck by semi-truck in west Phoenix

A tragic incident occurred on Monday night in Phoenix, Arizona, as a man lost his life and a woman was rushed to the hospital. According to the authorities, the man ran a red light, resulting in a collision with a semi-truck.

The incident took place at around 10 p.m. on the overpass of Interstate 10 and 51st Avenue.

According to investigators, the driver responsible for the accident, Christopher Betterson-Bishop, disregarded the red light and collided with a semi-truck traveling west on the I-10 access road.

Betterson-Bishop passed away at the scene.

The woman who was in the car with him sustained serious injuries but is expected to recover, according to investigators.

The truck driver remained unharmed and is fully cooperating with the detectives, according to the police.
