On Sunday, a fatal collision between multiple vehicles occurred, resulting in the closure of a five-mile section of I-25 North of Monument. As a result of the accident, one person lost their life.
At around 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, a crash was reported near the Upper Lake Gulch Road exit (172). As a result, all northbound lanes between Upper Lake Gulch Road and the Greenland exit (167) have been closed.
According to the Colorado State Patrol, a six-vehicle crash resulted in the injury of seven people. All of them were immediately transported to the hospital, but sadly, one person lost their life after being taken from the scene.
CDOT has reported that the lanes of I-25 have been re-opened at approximately 4 p.m. The authorities are currently investigating the cause of the crash.
