Ex-pastor from Colorado Springs receives sentence for exploiting children

Last year, Jonathan Shaheen was taken into custody by the Colorado Springs police department following a search warrant execution in a neighborhood near Austin Bluffs and Stetson Hills. The arrest came after investigators discovered that Shaheen had been in contact with a couple from New Mexico who were allegedly involved in exploiting children. The FBI office in Colorado Springs had alerted the local police department to the situation. CSPD officers found sufficient probable cause during the search warrant execution to arrest Shaheen, although they did not provide any details about the evidence they had found.

According to a statement given to 11 News, Shaheen, who was arrested, was previously a creative arts pastor at TimberCreek Church. However, the church had no involvement in the case, and Shaheen was not employed there at the time of his arrest.

According to a statement, CSPD reached out to assure the TimberCreek church that the arrest of the individual in question was not linked to anyone at the church. The statement read, “CSPD proactively communicated to us that his arrest has nothing to do with anyone at TimberCreek church.”
