MCALESTER, Okla. – UPDATE: The Oklahoma Department of Corrections confirmed James Lewis was captured at approximately 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

An inmate from the Jackie Brannon Correctional Center has escaped.
According to the Oklahoma Department of Corrections, James Lewis, 33, walked away from the facility Monday night around 9 p.m.
Lewis is serving a 27-year sentence for first-degree manslaughter, injuring someone while driving under the influence, and second-degree burglary in Pottawatomie County.
He is described as 6 ft. 1 in., with brown hair, brown eyes, and several tattoos, including a bull head on his right rib cage, two stars on his right bicep, and a “J” on his upper right arm.
If you see Lewis or have information about his location, do not approach him. Call 911 immediately.
