Disturbing footage captures a home aid assaulting a 95-year-old grandmother in Harlem

Eyewitness News has obtained a disturbing video that depicts a home health aid assaulting a 95-year-old woman in Harlem over the past weekend.

On July 21, the woman who required an oxygen tank and used a walker received care from a home health aid.

Michelle Mitchell, the victim’s granddaughter, described the experience as a nightmare and one of the worst days of her life, saying, “It was horrific.”

While Mitchell was physically located in New Jersey, she was able to witness the entire ordeal as it unfolded through live footage captured by cameras installed in her grandmother’s apartment. Utilizing her phone, Mitchell was able to stay connected and informed throughout the incident.

Mitchell expressed his disbelief, stating, “It was so unreal to me that someone could punch somebody like they were beating them down.”

According to medical professionals, the attack has left the victim with bruises, soreness, and an inability to lift her arms. Additionally, there are concerns about the potential development of blood clots.

According to reports, the employee in question is said to be affiliated with Medflyt, a Home Health Care Agency. Despite attempts to contact the company, Eyewitness News did not receive a response.

Authorities are currently searching for the healthcare professional, but as of yet, no arrests have been made.
