Authorities are actively searching for a 12-year-old girl who went missing from Georgia and may have traveled to Florida. As of now, the girl remains unaccounted for and officials are seeking any information that could lead to her safe return.
According to the Hall County, Ga. Sheriff’s Office, Maria Gomez-Perez disappeared from her home in Gainesville, Georgia on the night of May 29 and has not been seen since, which is now six weeks ago.
After speaking to someone on the phone, the girl left her house and hasn’t been seen or heard from since, according to officials. Sheriff Gerald Couch stated that their sole objective is to locate Maria and bring her back home.
At a height of 5’3″ and a weight of 110 pounds, Gomez-Perez is known to be a Hispanic/Latino girl.
According to the sheriff’s office, they have conducted searches across multiple states such as Florida, Alabama, South Carolina, Texas, Tennessee, Illinois, and Maryland.
The team is leaving no stone unturned in their quest to gather clues. They are utilizing a range of resources, such as intelligence, translators, drones, and crime scene investigators. Their unwavering determination is a driving force behind their efforts to uncover any leads that may assist in their investigation.
Someone has put up a $50,000 reward for the safe return of the child.
