A heat advisory is in effect for most of Middle Tennessee and Trigg, Todd, and Christian Counties in Southern Kentucky from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday. This intense heat calls for drinking plenty of water and taking breaks in air-conditioned spaces.
High temperatures will soar into the upper 90s, with heat indices ranging from 105 to 108 degrees.
Strong storms may occur late Saturday night into early Sunday morning, with a marginal risk (1/5) for areas along and north of Interstate 40.
These storms will move southeastward into Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky, weakening as they approach I-40.
More storms are expected to develop Sunday afternoon and continue through the evening, primarily affecting areas south of I-40. Some of these storms could be strong.
