A couple is accused of attempting to sell drugs to an undercover police officer in Westmoreland County.
According to the Westmoreland County District Attorney’s Office, John Finnegan and Jennifer Deparasis of Johnstown were detained Monday.
Officers from the North Huntingdon Police Department, the Westmoreland County Drug Task Force, and Attorney General’s Office agents collaborated on the undercover operation.
Those cops approached the couple and offered to buy 113 grams of methamphetamine for $1500. They planned to meet in Westmoreland County for the deal.
Finnegan was in the front seat of a truck when they arrived, with Deparasis in the back. Finnegan allegedly supplied the undercover cop methamphetamine after they got into the vehicle and then received the payment. The police quickly surrounded the truck and imprisoned both of them.
According to investigators, the truck also contained 15 bags of fentanyl.
The pair were unable to post bond. They both face narcotics delivery and possession accusations.
