The town council in Colorado has recently passed a resolution expressing their support for President-elect Donald Trump’s immigration policies.
The Castle Rock Town Council has shown its full support for President-Elect Donald Trump’s immigration policies and has expressed its readiness to lawfully collaborate with federal immigration officials to implement these policies.
According to the resolution, the United States is experiencing a growing number of unauthorized migrants within its borders. Various studies have indicated that these individuals pose a fiscal burden on public funds.
According to the resolution, there are concerns about the safety and well-being of American citizens due to illegal immigration. The main argument is that unauthorized migrants who commit crimes should not be in the United States in the first place.
According to the resolution, the city of Denver, Denver County, Denver Public Schools, and other government agencies have collectively spent a total of $356 million on serving migrants at the local level.
The resolution received a majority of votes, with six council members in favor. Councilmember Ryan Hollingshead, on the other hand, opted to vote present on this particular issue.
The council decided to pass this legislation because of the recent crime spike in Aurora.
According to a recent report by The Center Square, law enforcement authorities in Aurora have apprehended 19 individuals believed to be associated with Tren de Aragua. These suspects are accused of engaging in home invasions and kidnappings.
The town of Castle Rock is conveniently located just 35 minutes away from Aurora.
Councilmember Tim Dietz emphasized the importance of public safety, stating that it is a top priority for him. He believes that this resolution is a proactive measure to address this crucial issue.
“I don’t want to be Denver,” he expressed.
According to Dietz, Castle Rock stands out as one of the few remaining “conservative enclaves” in its region. With an estimated population of 81,415, the town is situated approximately 40 minutes away from Denver.
According to the speaker, individuals who are in the country illegally should start over in order to ensure their protection under the Constitution.
Hollingshead expressed his belief that the town council did not need to take action on this resolution, deeming it unnecessary to pass resolutions for every action taken by Denver. He described the idea as “silly.”
“We prioritize our business in Castle Rock and are proud of the great place we have here. We don’t feel the need to constantly compete with Denver,” he expressed.
According to Hollingshead, Denver doesn’t really care about Castle Rock.
The resolution faced opposition from numerous community members.
According to resident John Witson, Trump is making efforts to deport the neighbors of Castle Rock.

They play a significant role in building our homes, taking care of our lawns, working on our roofs, and painting our houses. These hardworking individuals are here, striving to provide the best for their families,” he emphasized.
Sheri Rich, a resident, expressed her fear and concern regarding the resolution, finding it to be quite alarming. The idea of transforming the Castle Rock Police Department into immigration enforcement officials and having them harass individuals within the town was described by Rich as “horrifying.”
