A Florissant man has been charged with murder and other crimes by St. Louis County prosecutors following a shooting in Ferguson that resulted in the death of a person.
Clarence Brown, a 19-year-old resident of St. Louis, is now facing charges of second-degree murder, first-degree robbery, and armed criminal action. This comes after the tragic death of Ramone-Kaleb Henderson, who was also 19 years old. The St. Louis County Police have released a news statement regarding these developments.
Brown is currently being held in the St. Louis County jail without the option for bail.
The charges stem from a shooting incident on Saturday afternoon in a parking lot located in the 40 block of North Florissant Road. During the incident, two individuals sustained injuries and were taken to nearby hospitals. Authorities have revealed that they are actively searching for more suspects involved in the incident.
Officers were responding to a report of gunfire at the parking lot when they discovered Henderson dead in a vehicle a few blocks away, according to charging documents in Brown’s case. The officer who found the victim reported that shots were fired at them and sought cover behind the vehicle.
Multiple law enforcement officers responded to the scene and apprehended Brown. He was taken into custody after admitting to orchestrating a robbery that occurred during a firearm exchange.
The surveillance footage captures the suspect’s vehicle tailing the victim’s car, leading to a dramatic shootout in the parking lot, as per the police.
