Camdenton Woman Faces Charges for Allegedly Kidnapping 5-Month-Old Girl

A Camdenton woman was arrested over the weekend after authorities discovered that she had hidden a baby from their parent. The incident began with an endangered person alert, which ultimately led to the woman’s apprehension.

Melissa Lynn Walker faces charges of 3rd Degree Kidnapping, which is classified as a Class A Misdemeanor, in connection with the incident.

Walker allegedly received custody of the 5-month-old girl for a few days. However, when it was time to return the child to her parent, Walker reportedly became evasive and stopped responding to the parent’s calls and texts.

According to the redacted probable cause document, Walker was discovered with the child at a spot in Osage Beach. After they threatened to forcibly enter, Walker eventually opened the door, and she was subsequently arrested.
