Bryson Muir’s Grandmother Expresses ‘Relief’ After Making Two 911 Calls to Request Police Assistance

As fear gripped her heart, Cheryl Wright turned to the police for help, desperate to ensure her grandson’s safety.

Bryson Muir’s grandmother made a series of 911 calls when she realized that he had gone missing and was worried about his safety. The transcript of the calls reveals that she pleaded with the police to assist in finding him.

Last month, Bryson, a 14-year-old, was reported missing by his grandmother, Cheryl Wright, who then called the police. Following his departure from his grandmother’s home on June 16, the teenager was allegedly abused, prompting the officials to issue a Silver Alert.

According to transcripts of 911 calls obtained by WishTV, Bryson’s mother was attempting to take him with her, prompting him to call Ohio police for assistance. The distressed grandmother can be heard pleading with the police in the recordings.

The woman stated that her grandson was visiting from Indiana and her daughter was attempting to take him away. She expressed her need for someone to intervene and help her in this situation.

During the call, she expressed, “She’s attempting to take him, and he’s 14 and naturally wants to go with her, but I’m not allowing him to leave.”

After a few minutes, Ms Wright contacted the police again, reporting that her daughter had assaulted her. When inquired if she required any medical assistance, she replied, “No, I need you to intervene and stop them.”

After the parents of the boy left, the police immediately sprang into action to locate the car. However, upon intercepting the vehicle a few minutes later, Bryson was nowhere to be seen, leading the authorities to suspect that he had been transferred to another vehicle.

Initially, Muirs expressed their willingness to cooperate with the investigation and agreed to meet with the investigators. However, during the meeting, the parents attended but refrained from bringing their son along. Police noted this during their investigation.

During the second meeting, the Muirs were present, but Bryson was not. They presented officers with a video of Bryson standing in a wooded area, where he made a statement denying that his father had punched him in the eye.

Investigators have issued a statewide Silver Alert after yet another unsuccessful attempt to meet with the parents and son. The alert suggests that Bryson may be in extreme danger and may require medical assistance.

On July 3, a dramatic SWAT raid on a religious compound finally led to the location of Bryson, who authorities announced was found “safe and well”. While his whereabouts had been unknown for some time, it was revealed that prior to his disappearance, Bryson’s grandmother had taken a picture of him with a black eye. As a result of the raid, Bryson’s parents were arrested.

In her interview with Fox59, she recounted the extent of his injuries saying, “His face was completely battered. It was swollen, he had a black eye, and a busted lip. I couldn’t help but wonder how many times he must have been hit in the face for it to look that way.”

Cheryl expressed her reluctance to let go of the situation saying, “I didn’t want to let him go.” She tried to call the authorities as her grandson had been subjected to abuse. The thought of someone being beaten in such a manner deeply pains her. Moreover, she cannot fathom how her daughter could let anyone harm her own child.

A couple, Daniel Muir (40) and Kristin Muir (38), have been charged with domestic battery and obstruction of justice. They are currently being held at Cass County Jail without bond as the judge has deemed them to be a potential flight risk.

Defense attorney Victor Vining, who represents Daniel and Kristen Muir, firmly stated that the Muir family has been wrongly accused and is innocent of any abuse or illegal actions. According to Vining, the Muirs deserve their right to a fair trial and due process. As of now, their next court hearing is scheduled for July 16.
