Brooklyn man dies 12 years after hit-and-run accident, family seeks justice for the driver’s capture.

According to police, a pedestrian who was struck in Brooklyn has passed away due to injuries sustained 12 years ago. The hit-and-run driver responsible for the incident was never apprehended.

On January 21, 2012, Anthony Alvelo, aged 63, was crossing 12th St. at Third Ave. in Gowanus at around 6 p.m. when he was hit.

As Alvelo was thrown to the ground, suffering from head and body injuries, the driver callously continued heading north on Third Ave.

According to Lester, law enforcement officers informed him that a woman was driving the vehicle.

According to Lester, the woman exited the vehicle and briefly glanced at the man before hastily retreating back into the car and driving away.

He added that the woman who was driving the white car known by the police should face prosecution for her actions. Despite the authorities’ knowledge of the vehicle, the woman has yet to be found.

The victim was transported by medics to Lutheran Medical Center in stable condition, with injuries to both the head and body.

On June 2, Alvelo passed away while residing in a long-term care nursing home located in Kensington.

According to law enforcement officials, the crash is still under investigation.

According to Lester, his brother was spending time with his friends on the day he worked at a scrap metal machinery factory.

According to him, he had a few beers and was heading home when she suddenly appeared out of nowhere.

According to him, his brother had to endure the consequences for the remainder of his life.

According to Lester, the individual was unable to communicate verbally, consume food, or move without assistance. “He couldn’t do anything,” Lester added.

According to Lester, the driver can’t remain hidden forever.

He declared with conviction, “That woman will have to pay for her actions. There is a higher power watching over us all, and no matter where she runs, she cannot escape justice. The Almighty does not forgive those who commit such heinous deeds on this Earth.”
