Early Friday morning, a commotion took place right outside the Binghamton Police Station, with reports of jumping.
An incident occurred on Friday, August 2, where a group of “at least 10 individuals” attacked a drag performer following a weekly drag show at Legacy Lounge. The incident was witnessed by someone present at the time of the attack. The nightclub is owned by Buffalo Bills defensive end DaQuan Jones and is located on Hawley Street in downtown Binghamton.
According to a witness, the performer was ambushed and assaulted by a group of individuals as they were leaving the nightclub and heading towards their car, which was located just outside of the police station. The witness, who reached out to News 34, reported that a few customers who witnessed the attack intervened and put an end to it.
An eyewitness reported that due to the jumping, the victim sustained injuries and was bleeding from the face with visible marks. Two individuals, both 18 years old, were confirmed to have been arrested by the Binghamton Police in connection with the attack.
