Beyoncé Donates $100,000 to University of Houston Law Center’s Criminal Justice Clinic

Beyoncé Donates $100,000 to University of Houston

Beyoncé Knowles-Carter has spread holiday cheer with a $100,000 donation to the University of Houston Law Center (UHLC). The funds, made through her BeyGOOD Foundation, will support the Law Center’s Criminal Justice Clinic, enabling it to expand services, hire a director, and bring on full-time staff.

The Criminal Justice Clinic provides hands-on training for law students, teaching them to navigate the justice system through client advocacy, interviewing, counseling, and negotiation. Additionally, the donation will boost the clinic’s outreach to underserved communities in Houston’s historic Third Ward.

“I am delighted that the BeyGOOD Foundation has made this very generous gift to the UH Law Center,” said Leonard Baynes, UHLC Dean. “This funding will help establish a full-time criminal justice clinic providing pro bono legal services and enhance our criminal law programming.”

BeyGOOD’s Mission
Founded in 2013, Beyoncé’s BeyGOOD Foundation aims to transform communities through initiatives promoting well-being, economic opportunity, and justice.

As a Houston native from the Third Ward, Beyoncé’s connection to the area runs deep, and her support comes as a significant boost for the university and its surrounding neighborhoods.

Christmas Day Performance
Fans can catch Beyoncé performing in her hometown on Christmas Day at the Houston Texans vs. Baltimore Ravens game at NRG Stadium. The game will also stream live on Netflix.

This donation marks yet another example of Beyoncé’s commitment to empowering communities and fostering positive change through education and justice.
